Rome May 1999 - Eurobanking
| Risk Management was a major theme of
Eurobanking 1999. There were major risks from Roman traffic every time one crossed
the road. Even without crossing the road, there were major risks of walking under
scaffolding and ladders as Rome prepares for the Millenium bash. There were high risks of sudden rainshowers, and even greater risks from umbrella sellers who appeared from all angles when the rain started. But the biggest risk of all was the risk of over-exposure to frescoed ceilings and other works of art |

The ceiling of the main conference room - Salla
della Clemenza in the Palazzo Altieri. Note how the figurines around the frame overlap into the frame itself. In the Sala Verde, the figures in the picture overlapped the frame. |
Gala Dinner - Villa Livia More painted ceilings - this time the theme was wildlife - mainly birds (of the feathered variety) |
The coffee room at Altieri This is where the real discussions happen - among the ornamented walls and ceilings
|
Sala della Clemenza - Stream B in full swing. Note how all of
the males wear shirt/tie. Maybe its the surroundings which leads to the formality. |
Elias
Halamandaris(Greece) at the Vatican museum. One of the longest corridors
I have ever seen, and definitely the most ornate and spectacular. |
